Wood Blinds & Faux Wood Blinds

Wood slats and faux wood slats have been one of the most popular window covering solutions for some time for many good reasons. They are installed with a tight fit so have little light seepage, adjustability gives you a range of light filtering and they can be priced well for all budgets.

Full range of coverage at great value

Whether you get a white finish in either a smooth or textured finish to match a frame finish or a variety of wood colours and stains – these wooden blinds can be a beautiful extension of your window trim finishing that compliments all styles of interiors.

Many window coverings tend to be more limited with light coverage – if they are blackout then they always block light – if they are a sheer then you will always see through. Adjustable wooden slat blinds are different!

WOOD & FAUX WOOD BLINDS FAQ

Our wood slat blinds can be fully closed where they block the majority of light, which is ideal for bedrooms or offices, OR they can be fully open with a clear view and lots of light coming through. This tends to be one of the biggest reasons why so many people choose them for their home. Learn more about wood blinds and faux wood slat blinds:

Blinds come with either a 2” or a 2.5” deep slat depending on window depth and overall size.  The larger the slat the larger the horizontal opening between slats when fully opened.

Wooden blinds can block a lot of light since when adjusted to the closed position, there are very little spots where light can seep through. Therefore they can be ideal for bedrooms or offices where complete light blockage is important. However, it is not considered blackout since some light will seep through cracks, and also along the edges where the blinds meet the frame.

The solid surface of wooden blinds have a matte finish which feels warmer than a cool, polished look.  With a variety of wood finishes available wood can be a warm accent to your windows and space. Whether it’s a modern light stain or a more traditional dark finish.

Wood and faux wood blinds can be a great way to express your personality and style depending on your choice of finishes.  They can have a very different look when you go lighter or darker or even introduce a bolder colour that compliments your home and add great value.

Designers love using them as a base window covering throughout the home then adding extra layers like drapery, roman shades and valances in higher profile spaces.

Sun exposure can be very damaging to your valuable and cherished possessions so adding a layer of UV protection while still being able to enjoy your view, is an important function of your window treatments.

Both! Wood blinds are very simple and functional and can be a great window covering on its own OR paired with custom drapes or roman shades to add more layers.  The clean lines of a wood or faux wood slats can complement a very traditional interior detailing or the simple, clean lines of a modern room.

Due to recent Health Canada regulations our blinds and shades are all cordless with no more dangerous or unsightly tangled cords, chains or strings.  This makes the window coverings cleaner with sophisticated mechanisms to easily manipulate by fingertip.

Adjustable light filtering

One of the biggest advantages of a wood or faux wood slat blind is the range of adjustability you get with the slats. With a full 90° range of tiltability this provides many angles to filter, bounce and block light streaming into your home.

This is especially useful as the sun moves throughout the day (and time of year) so you can continue to adjust your window blinds appropriately as needed. So, they are not only extremely functional, but also very clean and modern.

Easy cleaning & maintenance

Since wood and faux wood blinds are made from solid slats constructed of real wood or a polymer they can easily be wiped, dusted and cleaned. The tilting mechanism both up and down makes cleaning blinds even easier to get clear access to the horizontal surface of the blinds.

A faux wood blind is also a functional choice in areas of higher moisture like bathrooms and kitchens. With so much built-in functions wood blinds are a great choice when you want to finish your whole home in one style of window fashion.
