Beautiful sheers to soften your views
If your windows have a beautiful view but get blaring sun than a sheer or semi-sheer drape is the perfect solution to add light-filtering while keeping your views. It also adds a beautiful soft texture to the space which adds another design dimension of interest.
Sheers can go all the way to the ceiling or mounted on the wall above a window at varying heights. You can cover only the window opening or take the panels all the way across. Our designers can help you determine the best drapery solutions while making your windows a beautiful accent to your home.

DRAPERY & CURTAINS FAQ
Learn more about custom drapery and curtains:
Does drapery come in different transparencies?
Yes you can have the lightest sheer fabric which is practically see-through all the way to full blackout fabrics which blocks all of the light from entering a room.
The texture or pattern of a fabric can also affect how the light filters through. Since custom drapery is made from scratch the fabric solutions are endless to find the perfect one.
What height should I mount my drapery rod?
This question is asked a lot since the wrong height can actually date a room and make it look worse – not better. When you mount the rod just below the ceiling and have the drape or curtain go all the way to the floor it can give an illusion of higher ceilings.
Where should the drapes hit the floor?
You never want your drapers to sit more than ¼” to ½” above floor. If they are higher than they will look too short, like they were a mistake. Or ordered wrong.
What is puddling?
In some cases, you can order drapes which are a little longer than the actual height required so the fabric sits on the floors and actually “puddles” out a bit. This is a design detail and looks particularly nice in a high-profile space like a dining room or primary bedroom. It isn’t as practical since the fabric can get dusty and dirty but can look very grand.
Can window coverings protect my home from harmful UV rays?
Sun exposure can be very damaging to your valuable and cherished possessions so adding a layer of UV protection while still being able to enjoy your view, is an important function of your window treatments.
Can drapery be used as blackout?
YES, any drapery fabric can have a blackout liner added to it to 100% block out light so it can be very effective for bedrooms. This is why you often see a version of blackout drapes in hotel rooms.
Are drapes and curtains designer-friendly?
Designers love custom drapes and curtains because of the creativity involved in picking the perfect fabric with the perfect details to add the finishing touches to any room.

Privacy and a beautiful view?
Sometimes you don’t want to completely block your view, but you don’t want people to see in from the outside. Semi-sheer drapes can allow you to enjoy the view of the outside without compromising your privacy.
We carry many different fabric lines of various colours, textures and patterns that provide varying degrees of light-filtering and privacy levels depending on your needs.

2 in 1 Drapery
We love sunlight, but if it’s too direct and harsh it can impact how we live and move within a space during the daylight hours. Nestle up in your favourite window nook and enjoy the beautiful gardens without the direct sun’s rays that can be blinding.
At night you might want more privacy and blackout for sleep so a second drape with more light-filtering can be required so 2 tracks/rods with 2 drapes can add the ultimate flexibility for function and also look very grand.
